13th Annual Chamber Expo A Huge Success
The Chamber held their 13th Annual Community Expo on Saturday, October 7th. Over 75 vendors displayed at the event that included educational presentations by Critchlow Reptile Sanctuary, a “Mums for Charity” sale, “Meet & Greet Emergency Officials,” a “Taste of Wayland Food Court,” live music by the Kathy Lamar jazz band, and more. Booth awards were presented to Mytown Ace Hardware for having the Best of Show. Other recipients included Sensory Systems Clinic West for Most Educational, Hometown Heroes for Judges Choice, Sun Homes for Best “WOW” Factor, Benton Tax Accounting for Best Use of Products, and Wayland Christian Reformed Church for Best Non-Profit. During the Expo, guests had an opportunity to win over $200 worth of groceries, a Weber Grill, a Yeti cooler, and more. City of Wayland Mayor, Tim Bala, celebrated his birthday on the day of the Expo and was surprised at the City of Wayland booth with a birthday cake and guests singing Happy Birthday. The Expo is an annual event held annually on the first Saturday in October at the Wayland Middle School.
